In a more recent email he tells us another story.
"Things here are the same as always! Work, work, work, with little to report.
We had a fun story with a guy named Mike this last week though. We were in the middle of nowhere, getting on a bus to go home from doing some doors and we were the first people on this bus. The door opens and there is a black African dude driving the bus. In English he exclaims "You are from America, no?" and we were like Yeah! And he said "I go to the Grace Bible Church in Munster and some of your friends visited us there a long time ago! They were cool and I want to talk to you more about religion. I am going to give you my telephone number if you don't mind and we were like "sure!"" Me and Elder Anderson taught him the first lesson on the bus ride home XD. It was cool. He struggles with the concept of the trinity though. He quoted a scripture in John 4 that says "God is a spirit" and we need to help him realize what that means and stuff, so we hope for success with him in the future. We are also hoping to put Norbert on a baptismal date this week. Dunno how that will pan out though."

I just think it's cool that he has an investigator named Norbert.
ReplyDeleteA bus ride and first discussion all in one. Who could beat that?! What an awesome teaching experience. It was nice to hear about Tom's mission experiences. It sounds like he is having a blast manuvering his way around the kitchen.
