Here's something new. I was Googling and came across some interesting and fun facts about Germany. Thought it would be fun to share with everyone. I'll be adding new facts every week or so, stayed tuned.

* Did you know that Germany has more bookstores per square mile than any other country in the world! Thanks Tom for that one. It was a new one for me.

*And while you're thinking about that one, Germany also has over 300 different kinds of bread. It would take you a year, tasting a new one each day, to sample all of them.

History of Munster

No, it's not named after cheese (you're thinking of a cheese from France that makes delicious grilled cheese sandwiches). Munster is named for the monastery around which it grew, founded in the year 793. The city played a part in the Reformation, when the Anabaptists waged war in the 1500's. Europe's Thirty Years War ended with a treaty signed here. The city was largely destroyed during World War II and was rebuilt following historic plans.
